Still trying to boost up my average after Christmas miniature whisky measures,while watching football on our new 42" television(the other one packed in),great match the other night when Arsenal beat Chelsea,"Stand up if you hate Chelsea!"
Oh yes for the USA reader,we beat the Aussies and retained the ashes,just in case you missed it,Deb and Crocodile Mick have gone to Vietnam straight from Christmas in Perth, to help get over the cricket,he is coming back as a renamed Ocker "Ho Chi Mick"!

Rain

Back on the prairie after braving the M62 ,big holdups near Hudderfield and Leeds put about 40 minutes on the journey,snow here is almost gone and its heavy rain at the moment.

He's been! and I can't have been too bad this year, because there are a couple of parcels which look suspiciously like a certain Scottish product,with my name on them,we are waiting to open them as Gina has gone to work till midday, Sheila is busy at her favourite occupation in the kitchen,Andrew has already crashed two racing cars on a game he has been granted special permission to open.

News from the foot of our stairs

Here we are again in the butter pie and parch pea capital of England,icy weather -4c,not a tree in sight,this morning we braved Preston's ice bound streets with Andrew while Gina was at work keeping the good folk of Blackburn informed of the latest news, lots of people about which we are not used to anymore,and slow moving traffic.
Not much more to report we are waiting for Father Christmas tonight,though I may not have behaved well enough for him to bring me owt,thats all from "Coronation Street" for now.

Gascoyne Junction pub flooded !

This is a picture of Crocodile Mick having a drink with the owner of the pub at Gascoyne Junction in January this year,I took the photo with one hand,the other holding a stubby,due to monsoon type rain the pub is totally submerged under the Gascoyne River,hope they saved the beer,Carnarvon is now threatened but so far Debbie e mails us to say they are ok for now as the levees are holding.The drawing below is my condolences to the pub,I am now informed the fat bloke in the photo has been helicoptered to safety,the fate of the beer is unknown.
