Chile rescue

Good news on the mining rescue is that all our lads are out of the mine and the six brave blokes who went down voluntarily are also out.
What is interesting to some of us, is the pro miner sentiments of the British media,in sharp contrast to their attitude towards the British miners in the mid 80's when they sided with the thatcher government when she called our lads "the enemy within" because they were struggling to keep their jobs and communities alive, and covered up assaults on our lads by the police and troops who were dressed up in police outfits with no numbers on them.

Companeros

As I write we are at 18 mineros Chilenos rescued, hoping that no unforseen problems occur and all 33 are safe above ground, much is being made of the part god has played in their salvation, but the reality is its man's ingenuity that worked the "miracle",so far so good.

Black Swan

Another dreamtime "Artrage"digital painting of Gascoyne Junction with a black swan . This bird is native to the appropriately named Swan River in Perth WA.
There was a stretch of the river still containing water at "Gazzy Junction" when we visited with Crocodile Mick And Deb.and the pub (corrugated iron shed) had plenty of beer.

Chateau Petrus

At the recent Tory conference there was a dinner party at which the junketers attending drank Chateau Petrus wine which costs £1000 pounds a bottle,Cameron and his mate Osborne were imbibing this plonk, after telling the country we need to introduce austerity measures to solve the crisis brought about by their banker pals, this shows how their phrase"all in it together"is a load of rubbish, they also want to further emasculate the unions in law because they fear a massive groundswell of unrest when they introduce their policies later this month.
These two toffs are only interested in making life better for their rich friends at the expense of the people who have to work for a living, interesting to note that Cameron is married to lady astor's daughter.

Green leaves and grey skies on the prairie

Today its raining again but forecast to clear up later,Le Blades have moved back to Sheffield and will now no longer be known as Le blades, they have gone on a free transfer, though no doubt they are more than a little upset at the poor football results the Blades are foisting on to their fans.
It's all very unsettling but I don't really envy them the traffic and crowds in the big city, and especially shopping at Meadowhall, even if it is some peoples idea of paradise, and I always have dreamtime corner to escape to, any visit to OZ is now horrendously expensive because of the poor exchange rate, but it would be nice to have another trip to top up on ideas and experiences, hard to believe that brilliant light down under looking out of the window at the lincoln green/grey world.
