Learning to tell the time

This morning I woke up at 12.25am and thought how bright the moon was looking through the window,I then found it almost impossible to go back to sleep and lay worrying about various jobs that need doing around the place, after a while it was really bright in fact dawn was breaking over the sea,and after another look at the clock I realised I had mistaken the hands and it was 5am originally and now 5.20am. as many of the elderly readers will know 5am is quite a reasonable time to wake up even if it wipes you out at 10 in the evening on that day, though I usually last a bit longer before waking  than that  until around 8am.
The moral is when the BIG hand is on 12,and the LITTLE one on 5,its 5.00 clock !

Scab union leader

I read today that Greatorex one of the leaders of the Thatcher supported strike breaking Notts. miners has been found guilty of theft to the tune of £150,000 from a care home at which he was a trustee ,this will I suppose receive little if any media coverage ,however imagine the coverage if it had been Arthur and the big deal the media would have made of that.
Pictured is one of the Yorkshire miners who supported the strike for jobs and was a member of the NUM a real union.

Sheffield battlefield revisited

It was good to have a political discussion with  kindred spirits last friday, two old pals from Sheffield visited and me and comrade Les had an hour or two chatting about who sold out among the political heirarchy in Sheffield.
It seems almost all of the "peoples champions"were guilty in this respect feathering their nests at the expense of their electors, I will not mention names on the blog but if by some freak of circumstances they happen to read it they know who they are.

Success down under

Good to see that one of the brothers is successful in the sporting field,Sam the pom 's team Brisbane Wolves have played 4 won 4,and yet my former protege is modest about it all just as I educated him all those years ago.
