We have an "Australian"washing machine, when it enters a spin cycle it goes "walkabout",the make is, Samsung smart wash B1445A. so anyone who can help let me know, the back is not removable as far as I can see,but it sounds as if something is loose as it makes a loud knocking noise as it goes "walkabout",I get the feeling we may have to replace the whole thing,as its probably just as cheap as getting a repair bloke in.

Graham, we have a neighbor (John Brinker) who loves to fix things. I forwarded your blog post to him. Here is his response:
On models that do not have a back that comes off…. Here is what you need to do. Facing the washing machine you need to look for where the top panel and front panel of the machine meet. Two to Three inchs in from the corners of the seam, you need to push a putty knife straight in and find a clip that needs to be flexed towards the back of the machine. Both clips on the right and left side need to be flexed in which will allow the top panel to raise up. This will give you access to loosen screws to take the other side panels off. On some machines the whole outside shell must be lifted off. Once you get to looking at the transmission under the tub, I think you will see the problem which is allowing the tub to spin like a top. The stem under the tub has probably jumped out of it’s natural location which allows the tub from thrashing back and forth. Usually an off balanced load can cause this to happen. Hope this helps! JB
