After a week of events including the funeral of George our neighbour, and the mini stroke Len our elderly friend on the caravan site suffered, he is home from hospital and improving daily,I realised I have gone a week without blogging.
Le Blade has almost completed the conservatory, and will tile the floor next week,he will be quite happy as he went up to Sheffield to watch the Blades and they won 3.0,an added bonus for him is the fact that Wednesday were trounced at Wolves, and I was rather pleased that the Millers won again, making 6 points from two games, leaving them bottom with 11 remaining deducted points to make up.
Heavy rain this morning but there is a little sunshine breaking through the clouds, hopefully it may clear up,the good old English summer!
The hens have been a nuisance coming through the conifer hedge into the front garden,I have now made it like a fortress with chicken wire, they only have six and a half acres at one side and about the same on the other, but the front garden seems to be more attractive.
Completed some posters for Aussie Geoff the Vicar in Sheffield and spent time looking at holiday options,Northern Mallorca is supposed to be very scenic and apparently a world away from the congested south of the island, but we can't decide what to do,and are waiting until later in the year,we had thought of finding the cheapest US destination flight and driving around the deep south,a trip we have made before but ran out of time around the new orleans area,we had hoped to travel into Texas ,the problem now is the hens, which need baby sitting.
Football season is under way, and I watched Arsenal v West Brom yesterday, not a great game,I am finding the old second division(now called the first) games more attractive to watch,as the premier is becoming like Italian football ,choreographed, and lots of theatrical shamming, the objective seems to be to stop any kind of physical contact which makes the whole thing a sham.
I see the Montanas are on a visit to Ireland,I hope they will BOTH try the guinness, and enjoy it,this must be one of the finest beverages in the world, and is the real thing not like imitations made in other countries, other nice things are ,bran bread, soda bread, and the Irish Breakfast,in the north known as the Ulster Fry,though I have only had the southern version, and can vouch for it,friday and saturday nights in the Dublin bars are an experience not to be missed, with the impromptu singing and dancing. ps buy guinness by the pint as they charge more for two halves.

I will try the Guinness but might only manage a half. Watch the Blades win promotion this year.
