the ghost train

Enclosed a photo of 2 elderly ladies waiting for the famous Ghost Train to open, however their wait was in vain as it appears the owner was having a lie in!!

This morning whilst writing the blog, I felt a sharp stab in my toe,on removing my slipper a black beetle fell out,the beetle is now dead, after receiving a battering from said slipper.

Montana Mike please note, this is much more serious than being chased by a Big Rabbit(Marmot)leaving off blog to get ready for a trip to the market.
Well!visited the market at spilsby,La Signora bought some video's for £1. some of which can be thrown away, others may be worth watching. On our return there was a phone call from Preston Lilly, those SHARKS the car insurance company are once again up to their old tricks.
Weaseling out of paying as is their wont.We stopped to assist an old chap who had fallen off his bike, and couldn't get to his feet,we asked him if he was hurt, but he replied No! but I cant get this rucksack off my back, its full of potatoes, and its weighing me down ,I helped him across the road to his house, and returned to the car,in which three of us were then rather naughtily ,hilarious with laughter.
This is absolutely true and not one of my imaginative stories.
Thats it for Monday, and to my two blog readers please feel free to comment in your normal constructive way.

more boring stuff

Today,we are walking on the beach with our new lodger(Susan),yesterday at the barbie was quite good,we had sunshine ,booze, and lots of things to eat of a nature to fill vegetarians with horror,Susan joined us late but settled into the proceedings at once.

Made a good contact with our host ,Martin's shooting partner,he promised us some rabbits, which will be easier than plucking pigeons.

La signora joined in the games ,and it was nice to meet up with some more of the local inhabitants of the prairie.Yesterday am. finally hooked up with Sexbomb on the video/ audio link,he was slightly delayed fixing his smile(he knows what I refer to)we shall probably be out and about with our semi permanent guest ,in the next few days,Spilsby market Monday, and cheap grub at the red lion pub.

Mike and Mary Sue Montana sent us a nice photo of the exterior of Caseys Bar in Whitefish,I look forward to having a drink there next year, however the Montanas were it seems ,a little reluctant to do a trial run, could this be due to the frequent appearance of said establishment in the Whitefish Police Department incident log?

On the agricultural front, local farmers are hard at it harvesting before the Monsoon starts again, tractors are trundling past the little house on the prairie, night and day.

The sisters have been window shopping and tentatively looking at the ghost train, back for lunch after buying a video from a charity shop,a rip off at £1.oo

We watched a funny video last night",Commitment",based on a Roddy Doyle story set in Dublin,I can recommend it,but there is much swearing involved,(I was a lttle offended myself) thats todays lie used up!. The hired help(Susan) has been set to ironing, and we have allowed her to play music very loudly during this little task.Thats about it for this session,I shall report on our "Exciting " visit to Spilsby on Monday.

NEW SHED

Today, with the help of Norman, went and dismantled Shed,Bob the goose came with his truck , and we loaded it on. 4 over 60's ,there 's life in the old dogs yet! This afternoon was spent putting down a base, its a real joy for it not to be raining.Just chillin with a Becks german beer, and waiting for our visitor from Sheffield, big day saturday,THE BARBECUE,this seems to be akin to the North dakota Hayrides.I understand there may be alcohol,I shall try to force some down.Montana Mike's video was good Marmots and Goats attacking him,I didn't laugh ,,,Honest!

lighter shade of grey

Today the sky is a shimmering array of greys! and there is an occasional spattering of raindrops upon the window pane, and rather breezy,we are visitng the local trout farm this afternoon.

I was hoping to sit in the sun for a while today, but this may be a forlorn hope.

On the bright side, we are told by the media that summer will commence on the 15th of August,(can't wait),harvesting of the rape seed looks to be on hold,as is haymaking, its now raining heavily ,but forecast for weekend is promising. We have avisitor this weekend, who normally brings good weather,I think we shall be taking her along to the barbecue. There could be lots of locally culled wildlife on the menue,as one of the hosts is rather a good shot with his 12 bore rifle,

to literary critics

To all my literary critics, pick the flies out of this.
Oggi gia fatto una viaggia fino a la citta di Boston, dove abbiamo comprato,2 sedie.Non sono per noi,ma sono un regalo per una di nostra famiglia.Ora scrivo in Inglese.
We visited Boston today, where I tried to purchase,Phenocane,I was told it's probably an American thing, and the lady in the health shop thinks it may not be available over the counter here, but probably the internet is the tool I should choose to obtain it.
This evening I shall endeavour to purchase the aforementioned medication via the net.
May I take this opportunity to point out to"Montana Mike" that there is a vast difference between,Carpenter and Joiner,as those of us who have worked in construction well know.
The wonderful English weather came up trumps yet again ,and showers were the order of the day, this evening may once again be taken up with another hilarious webcam conversation, with Sexbomb who is back in residence at Alan Towers.
The forecast for thursday is wet!so lots to look forward to there.thats all folks!

tuesday a sunny day!!

Tuesday morning the sun is out and here is a picture to prove it,took me hours to put the picture on,and still cant remember how I did it.11am,and clouds are already bubbling up!I have not looked at the weather forecast yet.(no news is good news)we have visitors arriving today from the BIG CITY,La Signora has gone to get eggs from the farm,Montana holidaymakers please note, free range eggs.hope you like the borage field in sunlight, this is a better view in reality than the photo shows.I am trying to use correct English,as "PrestonLilly "was very critical of my literary efforts,I still consider we had a better education in our village school than todays kids get, watched university challenge last night, got about 50percent of the answers right, my dad was right when he said I was a clever b####r! I need to contact bob the goose about using his pick up to fetch another shed for erection at the little house on the prairie, but am waitng for improvement in a pulled muscle.Sexbomb is returning at weekend I hope the weather is ok by then.he tells me via the net that he can buy a mike/webcam at poundland Meadowhall(FOR A POUND??)more later,

woke up to the blues

Monday morning woke up 5am.sunrising over the sea, went back to sleep and woke up to the blues, !! yesterday saw a very topical quote in the paper from the poet Longfellow:
"Thy fate is the common fate of all/Into each life some rain must fall".so here on the prairie, its taking him at his word .and surprise surprise,,,its now raining, hence the blues.but the ducks are enjoying it ,so their cloud has a silver lining.looked at photo,s from montana,OK for some!!I read the police reports from Whitefish MT,they always give us a laugh.Must save pennies to make a trip there,Caseys bar looks the place to be.keep the reports coming
M&MS.the Rocky mountains look like Val Chisone in italy where I have some paintings on permanent show, at miniera Paola,a Talcum powder mine,no its not a made up thing..they do mine Talc.should be convenient when they start sweating.sky looks to be brightening up, so La Signora is heading for the shops,we had fireworks last night over the coast following the red arrows flying display.my old friend maurice would have enjoyed the red arrows,he tries to emulate them in a cessna, but not with much success! farmer joe was splashing out on ice cream yesreday according to his comment, paying game this duck farming,

Sunday 22 July 2007

red arrows

Sunday evening 5pm.great display of flying by the red arrows, and rain held off til'7pm,now for evening of soporific tv,back pain much better, due to application of snake oil(purchased in USA) or maybe just time passing heals it up. It would seem churlish to complain about the weather today,as we have had sunshine up to this evening,we are learning to lower our expectations, looking through the window over the prairie, its raining!!!heavy duty shower,Farmer joe's ducks will like it.Serious consideration of flight to sunnier climes is in progress, however money is a major issue, unlike rich farmers,we poverty stricken ordinary mortals have to count the pennies.

Saturday 21 July 2007

grey day

Saturday nearly dawned, once more raining on the flooded prairie,\little house faring well.though it is rumoured farmer joe is in good financial position, allegedly through diversifying into duck farming on his pond/lake.He has been observed showing his new vehicle off, speeding by in a cloud of fine lincolnshire spray.
I trudged on foot through the wild landscape to buy 6 eggs from the poultry farm, and then on to the village for a paper, only to find they had sold out.(city dwellers please note,)its not all coffee mornings and fish suppers at the village hall.there is a downside to country living.after much searching managed to find a paper,so all turned out well in the end.viewed video ,on the net of vacationers in montana in shorts and t shirts, there really is no justice in the world.Looking out over the sodden prairie, the skies seem to be lightening, but it could be wishful thinking,La signora is baking away in the kitchen, one of her favourite activities,Sheffield Signman, must try harder to put a comment on the blog,I am told its quite easy, the red arrows are due to provide us with an exhibition on sunday evening(according to joe the farmer.hope we will be able to see them, not had any input from Mick andMontmorency regarding the Blog, good south yorkshire couple that they are, more later.

Friday 20 July 2007

rainy day

here we go again, wild wind off the sea and driving rain.went out on bike this morning for a paper came back and sprained a back muscle ,or maybe trapped a nerve cutting the hedge,
hoping for better weather this weekend, settling in for anight of soaps, had our evening hour with paramount comedy,Everybody loves Raymond, life is exciting in our little house on the prairie,
thats all folks,

(there,s a surprise)think I might be on to "farmer joe" I know where you live.sexbomb is looking at setting up webcam and mike, when he returns to Alan Towers, in yorkshire.this am been to help out at caravan site with shed ,but not required at this juncture. I may visit Bob the goose shortly to arrange use of pick up truck, when the weather picks up,I have to help him with haymaking.

So,we can now contact relatives all over the world, yesterday we were able to use video/audio to converse and see at the same time, had great conversation with relatives on vacation in Montana,100f temperature, makes our 64o look shamefull, shall probably try ozzi relo,s next!!I told everyone to watch the copa america football final what a poor showing from the Argies!they were great up to playing in the final, then they turned into England,It looks as if the boat job might be rained off,WHAT A SURPRISE, Mrs Mole has wreaked havoc in the back garden,I know its Mrs,because La Signora told me.they go in straight lines, while the male zig zags.unless someone knows better? My birthday on Wed.18th,cash donations accepted, especially from local farmers.weather picked up enough to letter the boat. bit to death with midges.

Sunday 15 July 2007

borage field

made it! thepromised view of the borage field from our window, however it looks better in full sunlight,a commodity in short supply at the moment, a flood of photo,s will probably follow!!hiding away in there are hares,pheasants,rabbits,etc...fattening themselves up for the oven.must go now to watch coronation street,

sunday

Sunday am told its raining heavily in Sheffield,,just started here 5.30pm,who is this farmer joe??reveal yourself.went for a paper on the bike, and was caught up in a long conversation with former neighbours,la signora.telephoned to see where I was,so dashed home in fear and trepidation,as quickly as I could pedal, have to go out and letter a boat monday, perhaps it is noah,s ark? with all this rain, football on tv tonight, copa America final,Brasilia/Argentina

should be worth watching.trying the importing photo now, failed dismally.

yorkshire artist.

14th july Today was theHIGHLIGHT of my week, first visit to Coffee morning at local village hall!!discussed football with expat blades fan, agreed that all barn owls are under threat of abusive language whenever sighted.(illegal to shoot them)sun is out but windy, had lots of trouble getting used to the Blog, but will probably improve, was asked to take part in charity football match, asked for goalie but 3 others there before me,so stopper may be the best I can hope for,Ishall probably get red card.we have been invited to barby, later in the month, lets hope that the sunny day coincides with it.local tramp resides in barn next to venue,so he could be in for a feast of "leftovers"for non football fans, the owl is Sheffield wednesday logo, thrill a minute here in the outback,"TOMATOES ARE RIPENING"rape seed has been cut and this means hordes of little beetles to torment us,rape is canola in USA,lovely field of Borage across from our little house on the prairie,i must try and put a photo on here when I find how to do it, more later.
